Start the day right with what we consider the best thing to do in Lake Tahoe by snowshoe hiking to a panoramic point overlooking beautiful Lake Tahoe. This guided sunrise snowshoe hike is the perfect activity to catch a sunrise over Lake Tahoe. Beginning on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, we begin under the stars at the first twinkle of light.
Hiking from our cars we strap snowshoes to our boots and begin uphill through hidden walkways and trail networks under vast pine trees and cedars eventually gaining 300’ in elevation over a mile. Our goal is to reach an incredible view and what could be the best place to view sunrise in Lake Tahoe. As we hike the gentle morning twilight reveals Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountain vistas around us. Roughly 45 minutes of hiking get us to a panoramic view and the area in which we wait for the sun to rise. Waiting for sunrise the surrounding views of Lake Tahoe, the Sierra Crest, and mountain landscapes are viewed as ambient daylight increases around us. Breakfast-type pastries, hot water for tea, and coffee will also be provided. Once we get our fill of pastries, sunrise, and scenery we begin our snowshoe hike back down the mountain.
This area is one of the best places to view a sunrise over Lake Tahoe due to its prominent point overlooking the center of the lake, allowing for breathtaking views in every direction.
Join us and tell us what you think, could this be Lake Tahoe's premier morning sunrise hike!
