What Every Tour Includes
Snowshoes and poles come with every tour and every rental. Nothing to buy, nothing to pack. Groups run eight to ten people, your guide handles the route-finding and reads snow conditions before each departure, and every trail system we use sits outside avalanche terrain — which is precisely why these are the trails we run and not the popular ones.
Guides Who Know This Snow
Our guides work these trails all winter. They can tell you what last week's wind did to the snowpack, which trees the chickadees are working, and a fair amount of Sierra Nevada history along the way. None of it is on a trailhead map.
Who These Tours Suit
No experience needed. Snowshoeing is close enough to plain walking that most people stop thinking about their feet inside the first ten minutes, whatever their fitness. Kids seven and older do well on Chickadee Ridge and the family tour. Ten and up for Palisades Point and the sunset hike.
