Join us on a half-day guided snowshoeing trip through Lake Tahoe National Forest. On this winter snowshoe hike, we will be hiking with snowshoes, immersing ourselves in the forest on a homemade secluded winter trail. The terrain climbs 800 feet up the mountain in elevation to one of our favorite views and our half way mark, Pauly's Point which overlooks world-renowned ski resorts of Alpine Meadows and Palisades Tahoe. Snowshoeing to the Palisades Tahoe overlook is quite the accomplishment and usually takes about 1 - 1.5 hours of hiking through the Sierra Nevada Mountain landscape. Once to the the top, your Snowshoe Tahoe guide will have a variety of snacks to pass around. Snacks, photo opportunities, and conversations about the history and surrounding area are enjoyed as we take a break enjoying the Palisades Tahoe and Sierra Nevada scenery. High snowy alpine meadows are meandered through as our snowshoeing adventure continues down the mountain, completing a loop as we reach the end.
Due to the seclusion and private snowshoe trail, seeing another person is highly unlikely. So, step off the beaten path and allow us to show you a true mountain outing you won’t surely forget.
This beginner and intermediate snowshoe hike is suitable for all ability levels. However, due to the 800’ in elevation gain, uneven surfaces, and ever-changing snow conditions, this hike is considered moderate exercise as the hike is 3 miles in total covering 3 hours of activity, so be ready to break a little sweat. We recommend this hike is for kids 10 and older. All who attend will be rewarded greatly by the experience.
